I love the giraffes! So does my daughter! We make sure to feed them every time we visit!!!
June 8, 2012 at 12:20 pm
OMG! I LOVE the Tigers!!! When the male lays against the glass is FANTASTIC! I never thought I’d get that close to a tiger…. and I agree with Tonja! A pet tiger would be fantastic….they’re such cute kitties! lol
June 8, 2012 at 12:22 pm
oh yea and when the Tiger “sprayed” the glass the last time I was there, freaked out a bunch of people. I almost FELL OVER LAUGHING! Best thing ever…..Tiger says, “You have all been claimed” Now get in my cage. bwahahaha

North American River Otters! They are so much fun to watch.
June 8, 2012 at 12:25 pm
Very cool response! I agree about them being interesting to watch! 🙂

How can I pick one animal …… I love them all…. But the Giraffes are my favorite!!!

I’ll always have a soft spot for the lemurs. When we first saw their new exhibit, we saw the company that had just laid off my husband was a sponsor. We cursed the lemurs amd laughed about it.

The giant anteater! Did you know that its tongue is 2 feet long?? AND it has no teeth! Also, it eats up to 30,000 insects a day!! 30,000! Amazing! They are also into sustainable living….they will not destroy the anthill, they will tear it apart a bit, but leave enough so that the ants rebuild and the anteater still has ants to eat!

Gotta love those bongos! Silly humans…I am not talking about Matthew McConaughey’s notorious set. I am talking about the species of antelopes who live at The Sacramento Zoo.
June 8, 2012 at 12:38 pm
The giraffes of course! I spend most of my time hanging out and watching them. I have yet to have the chance to feed them, so I’d love to be able to do that soon!

I absolutely love the kangaroos. They are the cutest things when they’re sunbathing.
But! I must say my favorite is the white-handed gibbon. I used to volunteer as a zoo keeper-aide, and the white-handed gibbon is the most mischievous, playful little monkey. When I had to use the hose to clean his cage, he would put his hands in front of the water, causing the water to splash back at me. Hahaha. Whenever I was assigned to help the primates department, I would look forward to this little guy.

My favorite animal at the zoo? The monkey, yes I was actually dating this monkey and I like to go back and visit just to make sure he is ok. It was wrong of me to expect anything more from him or try to change him, so I brought him to a place where he can be free to be himself, hold his crotch and scratch his. . .oh well. Yes I still care. It was a difficult break up, but I was tired of all the monkey business.

LOL… love it! 🙂

My favorite has to be the Margay. It looks like a little leopard and the way it sits up in those trees…staring up at the birds outside is way cool!! It can be a bit hard to see but that’s half the fun right??

Julio, the blue and gold macaw, from the Interpretive Center is definitely my favorite animal at the #saczooKOF. He’s always helping ZooPI solve a mystery.
